Paso 1
Una gran sorpresa
Una mañana, un niño se despertó y vio una caja en el suelo.
Él dijo: “¿Qué es esto?”
Corrió a buscar a su hermana.
Su hermana dijo: “No lo sé. Vamos a mirar juntas.”
Abrieron la caja.
Dentro había un perrito pequeño.
El niño dijo: “¿Es para mí?”
La hermana dijo: “Quizás es para los dos.”
El cachorro saltó y corrió por la habitación.
El niño y la niña se rieron.
Ellos dijeron: “¡Es tan pequeño! ¡Es tan rápido!”
La madre entró y dijo: “Debéis cuidarlo.”
El niño dijo: “Lo alimentaremos.
Le daremos agua.”
La hermana dijo: “Jugaremos con él y lo dejaremos dormir.”
El cachorro movió la cola.
Estaba feliz.
El niño dijo: “Debemos darle un nombre.”
La hermana dijo: “Sí, un buen nombre.”
Pensaron y pensaron.
Entonces el niño dijo: “¡Lo llamaremos Spot!”
La hermana dijo: “¡Eso es perfecto!”
Todo el día jugaron con Spot.
Corrieron, rieron y lo abrazaron.
Por la noche, dijeron: “Buenas noches, Spot.”
El cachorro durmió.
El niño y la niña sonrieron.
Estaban contentos por su gran sorpresa.
Paso 2
A Big Surprise
One morning, a boy woke up and saw a box on the floor.
Él dijo: “¿Qué es esto?”
He ran to get his sister.
Su hermana dijo: “No lo sé. Vamos a mirar juntas.”
They opened the box.
Dentro había un perrito pequeño.
The boy said, “It is for me?”
La hermana dijo: “Quizás es para los dos.”
The puppy jumped out and ran around the room.
El niño y la niña se rieron.
They said, “It is so small! It is so fast!”
La madre entró y dijo: “Debéis cuidarlo.”
The boy said, “We will feed it. We will give it water.”
La hermana dijo: “Jugaremos con él y lo dejaremos dormir.”
The puppy wagged its tail.
Estaba feliz.
The boy said, “We must give it a name.”
La hermana dijo: “Sí, un buen nombre.”
They thought and thought.
Entonces el niño dijo: “¡Lo llamaremos Spot!”
The sister said, “That is perfect!”
Todo el día jugaron con Spot.
They ran, laughed, and hugged him.
Por la noche, dijeron: “Buenas noches, Spot.”
The puppy slept.
El niño y la niña sonrieron.
They were glad for their big surprise.
Paso 3
A Big Surprise
One morning, a boy woke up and saw a box on the floor.
He said, “What is this?”
He ran to get his sister.
His sister said, “I do not know.
Let us look together.”
They opened the box.
Inside was a small puppy.
The boy said, “It is for me?”
The sister said, “Maybe it is for both of us.”
The puppy jumped out and ran around the room.
The boy and girl laughed.
They said, “It is so small! It is so fast!”
The mother came in and said, “You must take care of it.”
The boy said, “We will feed it.
We will give it water.”
The sister said, “We will play with it and let it sleep.”
The puppy wagged its tail.
It was happy.
The boy said, “We must give it a name.”
The sister said, “Yes, a good name.”
They thought and thought.
Then the boy said, “We will call it Spot!”
The sister said, “That is perfect!”
All day, they played with Spot.
They ran, laughed, and hugged him.
At night, they said, “Good night, Spot.”
The puppy slept.
The boy and girl smiled.
They were glad for their big surprise.
